The purpose of the one-year SLC’s youth leadership training program is to provide leadership and professional development training to at least 50 Somali American youth at-risk of not going to college or not having a professional trajectory in Minnesota with the end goal of leading them to have healthy and productive lives as adults. The program will have four major components: Leadership training workshops Professional development counseling Peer mentoring College preparedness counseling when applicable. The participants will also benefit from our civic participation and volunteer activities.
